government consumer incentive programs and 100% government backed guarantees. Is the government better in the car business then they are in the mail business?

That’s what I don’t get. Wouldn’t most buyers have been in a financial position to buy the car anyway or in need of a new car? So the “stimulated” buying is temporary at best?

Lots of purchases were planned for 2010 or 2011. Now, you won’t sell more cars because of the program, just sooner. So, what we’ll see is a massive drop in car sales in 1, 2 or 3 years. So, it’s really just a temporary measure to increase sales NOW.

And has the government been able to get that money into the hands of the dealers, sales people, workers as of today? Are the workers seeing the benefits?

How will people make the payments on their new clunkers after they all lose their jobs from these screwed up policesNow that everyone that was even thinking about buying a car for the next year, has, how many will they sell now?

You have that right. Rob Peter to stimulate Paul. Peter’s not feeling very stimulated, though, and he’s thinking of laying Paul off. This IDIOTIC program will actually make it significantly more expensive for me to replace my really old van, because so many good replacements “drank the poison”. Maybe “MO” will give me a donation to be able to buy a new one, because I’m darn well not able to afford it, and refuse the stupidity of getting overextended!!!
