Whats all the excitment about the cat? What you gettin for scap on them?my junk demo cars run better with the back pressure and nothing cat back. Some motors need some back pressure to tune the heads for the best flow. It is called Harmonic Flow Resinance or tuned exaust. In the old days with big V8s more flow meant more power. But not always true today, with fule injection and electroinc engine management systems. In short let that cat purr. Do it with and with out and you will see.

Thats what I was thinking with my 1.6L 4 cyl…Putting a less restrictive system from the cat back to make it louder. It has good sound when you punch it. I hate for it to sound like the fart-can hondas though….

Short for catalytic converter, it changes the emissions put out by the engine into less harmful emissions. By less harmful I mean to breath, still just as bad and actually might be worse for the ozone but who cares?
