It is getting more and more difficult to transfer my mother into the car when I take her to the Doctor. She is paralyzed on the left side and when I lift and transfer her into the car she can not see the car seat because of the stroke and it scares her then she starts to have a panic attack which makes it harder to transfer her into the car. I must have a van with a wheelchair ramp because transferring my mother in the car is a fall risk for us both . Please Help. Judy

we are cycling to amsterdam from london and back and need to raise some money in case we can’t find a sponsor.
whats the best way of raising money for the rise (which is for charity – all money made from the ride will go to charity) is a cake sale a good way? or washing cars? what do you think?
Donating My Car (to a Veterans Charity) what to expect?

I’m moving out of state for school and i won’t be needing a car so i decided to donate it to The National Veterans Service Fund Vehicle Donation Program.
They are scheduled to pick up the car on thursday.
I already know that i have to surrender my plates (i’ll do that tomorrow) to the MVC
and i know that i have to give the car title to the tow company:
1. Do i have to sign over the title or leave it blank?
2. Am i supposed to get any paperwork from the charity as proof that the car was donated?
I read that they send you info once the car has been sold.
3. Is there anything else i should know/expect during this process?

there are shop premises near me and i would like to rent one but can’t afford the rent on any of them alot of the stuff i want to sell and also alot of the stuff i give to charity i use to do car bootsales but i don’t drive due to my vision also i did have friends who helped me by taking me there but they would do it for 1 or 2 weeks then they would stop. ,there use to be shops like this years ago but you don’t see them anymore what i would sell and donate ranges from aprons to pc hardware tables chairs phones tv’s shelving coats ink for printers and karioke machine etc etc . This would be a life long dream to me to have the oppotunity to do this i am not doing it with the thought i want to be rich ,its the thought of helping others in an around my community all i need is to cover the rent of the premises and feed me and my dog i am known by many people in hertfordshire from doing the bootsales and anyone can tell you im ok o7731430046 rayner24@hotmail.com thanks

And I’m not talking about a charity that simply turns the car over to a broker for sale and then takes the cash proceeds from the sale. I’m talking about a charity that either uses the car or fixes it up for a needy family to use for transportation.
Donationing a car to a charity — the charity can do whatever they want with it, right?

I looked up and called the original owner of a car that I just bought — and he claims he donated it to a volunteer firehall assuming it would be used for practice — using the jaws of life, like that.
When I told it I bought it off someone, he hit the roof!
The firehall could have auctioned it off, or done anything with it they wanted to instead, right?
This guy is threatening to contact his lawyer to go after the firehall because they apparently sold it, instead of destroying it for practice, as he was told or was his intention.
But a charitable organization can do ANYTHING they want with a donated item, can’t they?

Bad Co. — I called the original (and only) owner because there is still a lienholder listed on the title – to ask him if he would be kind enough to could send me a copy of the lien release –
It is a 1999 Ford Escort, and the lien is with Ford Motor Credit, and of course it is paid off!! He even said so, in between his swearing at me and threatening the firehall with his lawyer.
