What is the best charity to donate to, as far as most reputable.
I was looking at Kars 4 kids, but I saw something that said that they don’t help homeless children like they claim, but educate Jewish children to stay away from gentiles, so that’s a no go.
Any ideas?

I have a 1995 Olds 88 Royale that I was going to sell. The more I get quotes, the more I think about just donating it. On Kelly Blue Book it lists for $2300 and I owe $700 on a “family” loan for it. If I donate it, do I receive a tax break of any fashion and is it based on book pricing or do I name my price? Taxes that I paid this year state it is worth $1825. I’m not trying to be greedy, I am just broke and I at least want to be able to pay it off and not owe a monthly payment. I live in KY…. any suggestions or info on the process???

I would like to donate a very old and beaten up car. In addition to the Kelly Blue Book value for my car, I would like to claim the $700 in necessary repairs I recently had performed. Without these repairs the car could not operate, and would have obligated the receiving charity to cover the costs (or reject the car).

The value of the repairs increases the value of the donated goods, the way I see it. How does the IRS see it?

I want to donate a working pick-up truck to charity. I have heard all about the tax deduction I would be eligible for, but isn’t a deduction only helpful if I OWE money on my taxes each year? I always, always get money back… so will donating a car be beneficial for me? Or am I better off just selling the truck?

I would like to donate my car to a charity, however, I am looking for a charity (recognized by the IRS) that will actually use the car instead of selling it. I believe I could deduct the FMV if someone were to use it instead of selling it because the sale price will probably be a lot lower than what the car is worth.

I just brought a new car and i do not need my old car anymore so i am considering donating my car to a nonprofit charity. what my concern is how would that work as far as my taxes go? would i claim it and itemize it as a deduction? would i get the blue book value of my car?
