How can I remove the lien from the car title if this dealership is no longer in business. It took me 2 years to fix the car and now i cant register it in PA because of the lien issue.
I already put in to make the car donation to purple heart and they’re soonest available time to pick it up was on the 31st which either way I’m glad they’re getting the car I wasnt using but I was wondering if I can still file that on this yrs tax return, it is still this year but I’m not sure if there is a cut off on donations I know its 100$ tav deductable
I donated I car that was valued on the street around $800. I was told I get a $500 write off on my 09 taxes. I got a W9 form and am going to send it in today- I was curious, i have a househould income of under 50,000- Is that writeoff going to act as a credit on my tax return?
Should I be getting a $500 deductible on a car donation? Between my wife and I, we both made about $65,000. Last year we donated a car and got a letter that valued the donation at $500. While entering this information, HRBLOCK online mentioned that because it will need additional documents in regards to the letter/receipt of the donation, I will not be able to file electronically. I went ahead and finished all my tax information and decided to omit my car donation. Even with the deletion of the car donation, my refund did not change. Why would that be? Shouldn’t I be getting that amount off or refunded? I could have sold the car to a private party for about $1500 in fair condition rather than burning my head during tax season.
Thanks
Thank you guys for your assistance. Great responses from everyone.
I was in an accident today, slid on the snow and went into a spin, hit a telephone pole. I’m fine and didn’t hit anyone which is great but my car is eventually going to give out. I was wondering if there was a place you could possibly get a car from a donation plavce of some sort? A car giveaway? I know it’s highly unlikely but I just thought I would ask.

His wife is expecting their 2nd child next week and they have unpaid student loans and no life insurance. Our fiends would like to make a donation to pay for the funeral service, their immediate daily expense and kid’s future education fund. It would be very nice if such donation can be tax deductible. We also would like to know if his student loan can be waived?
Thanks a lot!
What I meant by tax-deductible is for both parties: both the giving and receiving side.
I wanted to do it online but I donated a car and have paperwork from the charity and I also have moving expenses since we moved from one state to another for work. How do I submit the charity paperwork if I’m filing online?
I donated blood the other day and i was perfectly fine during the donation. They had me sit down for 10 minutes and eat and drink something. I felt great! I got in my car and I felt 100% fine. I was pulling out of the parking lot and suddenly got EXTREMLEY faint. I knew i was going to pass out because I’ve passed out before. I pulled into another parking lot, parked my car, and tried my best to call my boyfriend so he knew where i was. My fingers were too weak to push the keys. I suddenly started sweating profusely, i opened my car door and without warning, threw up all over the parking lot. Then i got faint again. So i sat on the curb, i couldn’t stand up, i suddenly had diharrea, and my mom had to come pick me up and her and my brother had to help me get in the car. I was breathing really heavy. This lasted for about 45 minutes. Is this normal? I’m concerned. I’m wondering if i’m pregnant now too, I hear you get really sick if you donate blood when you are pregnant.
I am currently “renting out” two bedrooms and two bathrooms of my four bedroom/three bathroom house to friends who fell on hard times. They are a four-person family (two adults and two children) who use my kitchen, living room, and yard, as well as the two bedrooms and two bathrooms they live/sleep in. They do not pay rent or utilities (phone, electric, heat, hot water, sewer, etc) to me at all, but pay their own groceries, gas for their car, medical bills, and their own debts. I am wondering if I can get any sort of deduction, write off, or anything to compensate for the depreciation to my home, as well as the charity I am providing them. They are willing to write me a letter attesting to their move in date, and the fact that they do not pay for rent or utilities and are using more than 1/2 of the house without paying anything for it.

Not a lazy person. Not a terrible person. Definitely not a child, but almost 30. Life’s thrown a few curves and I find myself with child and living by myself. I’m due in February and my car completely died and we are having to scrap it. Do you know if there are any programs available where people have donated vehicles and you can pay less than $2000 for them. I’m just looking for something to get me to work and this child to daycare after birth. I’m just looking for facts and not really any advice. I’m doing the best that I can and I really don’t feel like going into why I’m stuck in this situation. All I can say is that it’s for the best and was a very hard decision to make.

I want to get it out of my driveway this month. Occasionally I see a request for auto donations from the Purple Heart, but I’d prefer to donate to a medical charity if possible.
