I am helping to generate ideas for a small non profit oirgnization in Ohio that helps recovering addicts. They also provide shelter for up o one year for individuals to rehabilitate their lives after drug related jail time or mandatory rehabilitation. Currently it is funded (and founded) by a church and survives off of church and private donations. There have been car washes, cook outs and other types of sales to generate funds. Just looking for some new ideas to present- HELP!

Our volunteer group is 10 girls and we are the only out-of-school community service organization in our semi-small town. We have received a grant from “youth venture” (www.genv.net) 2 years ago and are looking for creative ideas for fundraising to sustain our program, Build a Bear to Show you Care, where we donate Build a Bears to the local children’s hospital, hold parties for the children and bake/assist at the local Ronald McDonald House.
So far we have held a car wash, which was a great success, raising over 700 dollars on a rainy day, sold hot dogs, popcorn and drinks at a community gathering and collected donations from teachers interested in our project.
This year we have been invited to participate in a community gathering weekend. The things we can do are endless, but keep in mind we don’t have that much space and people. We can sell food or hold an event of any sort. We also need to do other fundraising events because each set of build a bears costs about 800 dollars.

My son was 4 yrs old when he lost his first tooth. The tooth fairy brought him $2 and a 1:64 scale race car. He told me he wanted to donate the money so that other kids could have cars, too. Moment…
I participate in the Arthritis Walk each year with a small team. My family and friends are very generous with their donations, but I’d like to increase the amount that I’m able to raise for the charity. My team members are all adults and many have arthritis, so physical events (like a car wash) aren’t our best bet. Any ideas which have worked for you would be greatly appreciated!
