So I want to know if I can buy a used car then give/donate it to someone that doesn’t have one and get a credit back on my taxes for it as a charitable donation or something like that? If so will I get back the same amount it cost me or will it only be a portion? Thanks all!

2 days ago my cousin and her husband were rear-ended, and their 1yr old baby boy didn’t survive. The doctors were able to keep him alive long enough for them (and her parents) to say goodbye and donate his little organs to science. Now a week after his 1yr birthday party we’ll go to his viewing and funeral. This will be the saddest thing I’ve ever been to. My own wife is 8 mos. pregnant, so it’s gonna be very hard. What do we say?

I am just a biker.
I saw you hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line but you didn’t see me put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.
I saw you pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk but you didn’t see me playing Santa at the local mall.
I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant but you didn’t see me attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.
I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by but you didn’t see me driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.
I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children but you didn’t see me when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.
I saw you stare at my long hair but you didn’t see me and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.
I saw you roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves but you didn’t see me and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none.
I saw you look in fright at my tattoos but you didn’t see me cry as my children where born and have their name written over and in my heart.
I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere but you didn’t see me going home to be with my family.
I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be but you didn’t see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I need a person is is looking for a tax write off. I need a donation any amount of money 100+ to start my personal business. II am an unmarried mom looking for financial independance I have no insurance and have been paying off a huge hospital bill and paycheck to paycheck between payments, bills, my car and My daughter, I dont want to be dependant on a bf or family. I want to start something and make it BIG but I need something to start and I know there are people out there who are looking to help. I have many marketing tools in which I feel are going to help me.
Even if you know of how to help me get on my feet any tips please let me know

I unfortunately live in a part of southern New Jersey that makes it nearly impossible to work without a car. Hardly anything is within reasonable walking distance / biking distance from me. The places that are… I’ve tried countless times to find work at… but it’s always the same story about the economy, cutbacks, etc.
I’d work at MacDonald’s. I’m not too “big” for that. They’re not hiring, nor are they close. I’m 24 years old… and I can’t find a job that I can afford to get to. I landed a job after months of searching and chewing up what little resources I had… but it’s an “on-call” job at Lockheed Martin, as a Security Guard. It’s about 25 miles from where I “live” which is with friends… (not roommates)…
At times, I’ve been forced to sleep outside in the weather because I had no other options. I have wisdom teeth that are killing me… amongst… god knows how many other health problems being that I haven’t had health insurance since I got out of High School.
My options are:
Save money for a vehicle…
or
Save money for an apartment in the city (Philly) where I can most likely find work within walking distance.
The problem is… I don’t live in the city… and I don’t have a vehicle. And either way, it’s going to cost money I don’t have. My job never bothers to call me (not that they ever have open shifts anyway) but I’m the lowest on their list because they know my situation blows.
I don’t have good enough credit to get any type of loan.
I’m not trying to be a beggar… by all means… but it’s getting to the point where I’m going to end up on the street (for real) if I don’t run into some dumb luck in my favor, or find some caring soul(s) to donate a little money.
I can live off of rice and tap water… I can live without many things…
But I’m at the point where I can’t get any further than where I am on my own. (Fyi, I don’t qualify for welfare.) I don’t even know why… mostly because I’m a single 20 something year old white male with no children or mortgage payment/rent. *rolls eyes*
But back to being serious… I need help. I have $320 and a 5 year old laptop to my name. I am open to suggestions… but I also appreciate anything you can contribute. (evankoenitzer@comcast.net is my paypal email).

My parents haven’t been in my life for many years.
I DO crash at friends houses, but I don’t overstay my welcome. And all my friends either have bitchy roommates or live with parents who aren’t ready to adopt a 24 year old son.
I started from nothing out of HS, got to a point of being okay, got terribly sick with Pneumonia at 18/19, wracked up a heaping load of hospital bills which destroyed my credit. Had my car shit out on me in my first year of college, forcing me to drop out, which cost me more money…
And I’ve been struggling ever since.
I’m not a deadbeat. I’m just stuck. I’m a hard worker who can’t afford to get to work.
There is no public transportation in my area.
I need to move to Philadelphia…
Life sucks.

Me and my diabled mother are very poor and we are katrina victims after katrina we moved in with a friend but he isnt letting us go anywhere and we want to leave but we are unable without a car my mother is very sick and they have just diagnosed me as disabled as well we are in need desperate need of a car…if there is anyone who would donate a car to us or know how we can get one it would help us out alot please…help us anyway you can??

This was inspired by the Oprah question that’s featured about how you would help a stranger if you had a thousand dollars to spend on them. Realistically, the vast majority of us don’t have and likely will never have a thousand dollars to spend on a stranger, so my question is: What can you do right now, for free of for a small amount of money, to help someone else?
It can be something like shoveling a friend’s driveway or clearing snow off a neighbor’s car, or donating old blankets to a shelter, or calling someone you haven’t talked to in a long time. It can be a stranger, but it doesn’t have to be.
So, what would you do? And if you have the chance, go do it!
